Fans Are 'Crying' Over 'Outlander' Star Sam Heughan's Behind-the-Scenes Photos After Series Wrap

Sam Heughan is saying goodbye to Outlander , and fans aren't ready for the adventure to end.

The actor took to Instagram on Friday, Sept. 27, to mark the final day of filming on the fantasy series with a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos from the past eight seasons. The pics included images of the Scottish star splattered with fake blood, posing with animals (a horse in one shot and a kitten in another), bonding with co-stars and even eating a popsicle while dressed as Jamie Fraser.

"11 Years. 8 seasons. 101 Episodes @outlander_starz What a journey," Heughan captioned his post. "So many memories, incredible people I have been fortunate to work with and now can call friends."

The 44-year-old continued, "So many people to thank. Especially JAMMF himself, herself @diana_gabaldon, @starz @sptv, my brilliant partner in crime @caitrionabalfe, cast, crew, the fans and to Scotland!! Dinnae fash Sassenachs, plenty more to look forward to….⚔️❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿."

Heughan's followers mourned the ending of the beloved show in the comments.
