Going back into the '70's, I knew that the quarry was there (driving next to it on West Ave) ... and, I remember Salt Creek overflowing its banks, back in the late '80's... so, turning that into a floodwater basin was an awesome idea. 👍 (That flooding started happening more often when they (Elmhurst) allowed building / project developments at Rt. 83, Roosevelt and Butterfield, rerouting some of the creek...just S / SW of Eldridge Park...)
