Spring Township, Pa. — Bruises and swelling were visible on a woman who met with police to report an assault in Centre County.

The victim identified Andrew Michael Weaver, 39, of Bellefonte as the person responsible for her injuries which included bruising on the neck and a swollen elbow, according to the complaint. She alleged that an argument escalated, then Weaver assaulted her inside an apartment on the 300 block of Kiara Lane, Sergeant Darren Brown of the Spring Township Police Department said.

Weaver allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and shoved her to the ground. The victim was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for her injuries.

Weaver is being charged with simple assault and harassment. No bail is listed for Weaver, who is scheduled to appear before Judge Gregory Koehle next month for a preliminary hearing.
