One of the latest posts by the Colorado Buffaloes' social media team is one that many fans think should have been kept in the drafts.

The Buffs (3-1) are in Orlando, Florida, for a Week 5 game meeting with the UCF Knights (3-0) for each team's second Big 12 game. In what was meant to hype up fans and remind them that the game is 24 hours away, a Colorado social media post has since been deleted due to immense backlash.

The team's page uploaded a picture of safety Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig standing in water above his knees, imitating a shark, with a "beware of sharks" sign nearly submerged in water behind him. While Simon-Craig has a nickname and merchandise that coincides with sharks, it is clear that fans around the country didn't love the timing of the post.

The post led to many fans calling the program out for being oblivious and insensitive to the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene. The Category 4 hurricane has already claimed over 40 lives and left millions without power, according to NBC .

"What's worse: CU's pass protection or the timing of this graphic," wrote The Athletic's Stewart Mandel.

"Pretty off-color post considering what's happening in Florida right now," added another user.

"Insane post during a catastrophic weather event😭," chimed in another.

"Talk about tone deaf," commented another user.

According to USA TODAY , the hurricane made landfall on Thursday night in Florida with winds reaching 140 mph. Other states, such as Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee, have also been impacted by the hurricane.

Colorado's post had been up for a couple of hours at the time of this report and had reached nearly 600,000 views. There were also over 500 comments on the post, many of which urged the program to take it down.

They have since posted a picture of Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter at practice.

Colorado and UCF will square off on Fox's "Big Noon Kickoff" on Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET.
