MERION STATION, Pa. – The sixth-ranked Saint Joseph's field hockey team fell to UMass, 2-1, in overtime on a dreary Friday afternoon at Ellen Ryan Field. • Neither team was able to find the scoreboard in the first half. The Minutewomen controlled possession in the first quarter, forcing a pair of saves out of Marith Bijkerk. In the second quarter, the Hawks were on the front foot and it was Myrte van Herwijnen that made two stops to keep things level.
