    Senior trio leads Nelsonville-York to four-set win over Vinton County

    NELSONVILLE — The Buckeyes continued their winning ways on Thursday night. Grabbing its fifth straight victory, Nelsonville-York survived a four-set clash with Vinton County at Ben Wagner Gymnasium.

    Securing a 2-0 lead at one point, the scoreboard ultimately read 25-18, 25-22, 18-25, 25-13 by the end of the night.

    The senior trio of Kyleigh Warren, Gianna Dixon and Chloee Vohlken showed out once again, each grabbing double-digit kills in the win. Warren and Dixon each finished with a team-high 15 kills while Vohlken spiked 12.

    Cat Dixon finished with five while Megan Booth and Emmie Fowler each tallied four. Booth also ended up with 43 assists out of the setter spot.

    The team also made a ton of its effort at the serving line, grabbing 17 aces as a team. Kenzie VanBibber and Dixon each led the team with four while Delaney Dean and Vohlken were just behind them with three apiece.

    Defensively, Dean took over once again with an impressive 28 digs on the night to lead the way. Booth also finished with 11 in an all-around game for the senior.

    The team begins its final three conference games of the year on Tuesday when Nelsonville-York travels out to Meigs on the first day of October.
