Netflix Will Release Red Sox 2004 Triumph This October

Twenty years later the story of the miracle in Boston will be told in a limited docuseries on Netflix. To the exact day of the first game in the 2004 World Series, October 23, Netflix is set to release a docuseries. The year's most anticipated documentary out of Boston will include exclusives from former players and feature the greatest comeback in Red Sox history.

Netflix has the chance to do an incredible job with their new docuseries on the 2004 Red Sox. Making the playoffs Red Sox disappointingly started losing against the Yankees in the 2004 Pennant race, down 3-0. No team had ever come back from a 3-0 deficit. Then, all of a sudden, the world gets brighter, and things become possible again, the Red Sox miracle happens. In the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals, the Red Sox and baseball fans alike were glued to the games. Would they win this tremulous eight-decade dry spell? When it was over, the curse of the "Great Bambino" had been broken, there was a relief in the air.

This story was made for the movies. It is a story of incredible vigor, coming together as a team and breaking the 86-year drought in Boston. Pre-2004 the fan base was smaller, closer, and loved them no matter the weather. Loyalty is the most important thing to the Red Sox Nation, so year after year, when the team bled, they bled. When they had a chance at the playoffs and the wheels came off in mid-September, they still loved them. This went on for decades, and Red Sox Nation are some of the most loyal humans on the planet.

Red Sox Nation Awaits Release

The audience will be in one of two camps, Red Sox Nation and everyone else. The second camp will hear the story of incredible feats, unbelievable comebacks, and a team that smashed the greatest curse in sports history. Red Sox Nation and the entire New England community were aware of the palpable excitement, it was felt everywhere you went. The bank tellers were nicer, drivers were yielding to pedestrians (might be the only time in history this has happened), and the normally brash community was rejoicing in what was possible. There was hope, and this surge of energy carried on into the World Series.
