    MPD: Woman arrested, being investigated for possible hate crime

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said it arrested a woman who is now being investigated for being involved in a possible hate crime at a Chipotle in Columbia Heights.

    Police said the incident happened on Sept. 23 at about 6:20 p.m. in the 3100 block of 14th St. The suspect went inside Chipotle and started an argument with the employees.

    MPD said that during the incident, the woman made remarks to employees about their nationality. She also threatened to shoot up the place and the employees.

    Soon after, the woman was arrested by police.

    The woman was identified as 32-year-old Chanae Ridian Watson, of Northwest D.C. She was charged with Threats to Kidnap or Injure A Person.
