    SacRT offers free rides on bus and light rail

    (FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento Regional Transit announced it will offer free transportation to celebrate California Clean Air Day and the Week Without Driving challenge.

    For Week Without Driving, SacRT said customers who present event flyers can ride for free on fixed-route bus and light rail services on Sept. 30 and Oct. 6. 2024. Flyers are available at sacrt.com and can be printed or screenshotted. Details on eligible free days are available on the SacRT website.

    Sacramento Stand Down event helps homeless veterans

    On Oct. 2, customers can ride for free with no flyer required in honor of California Clean Air Day, according to SacRT.

    “We are proud to support California Clean Air Day and Week Without Driving by offering free rides to the community,” said Henry Li, SacRT General Manager/CEO. “This is a great opportunity for people to try transit, reduce their carbon footprint, and consider making transit a regular part of their commute.”

    SacRT said it encourages everyone to do their part in reducing pollution and their “carbon footprint”. An online pledge to help with clean air is available on SacRT.com .
