The National Weather Service in Hanford is forecasting warm, dry conditions for the Central Valley through next week, with a 25-65% chance of temperatures reaching triple digits by midweek. Above-average temperatures are expected to persist due to a ridge of high pressure centered over the Four Corners region, which remains stalled due to two low-pressure systems on the east coast.

A slight dip in temperatures is possible on Sunday as a low-pressure shortwave moves through southern California, but temperatures will remain above normal. By Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures may soar again, with a high likelihood of hitting 100°F or higher in many areas.

Low humidity and poor overnight recoveries are expected, particularly in the mountains and desert regions. Looking further ahead, a slight cooldown is predicted for the weekend of October 4-7, with temperatures potentially dropping below 90°F.
