DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Six crew members from Decatur Utilities leave early Saturday morning for Winchester, South Carolina to help restore power from the storms.

South Carolina requested help in restoring power from surrounding states in light of storm damage.

Joe Holmes with Decatur Utilities said that serving and helping communities is a pillar in the company’s values.

“We’ve had local utilities, utilities from far off come help us,” Holmes said. “And, it’s just a brotherhood that we want to give back and help our other brothers and sisters when they’re in need. Just a way to, kind of, live out our values here and that’s just to help each other and serve.”

The crew will be out there for several days.
