But between battling the remnants of Hurricane Helene and and Warrior defense, Coffee County could not muster up any offense in a 21-0 road loss. Riverdale scored early after a Raider 3-and-out to start the game and a shaky punt gave the Warriors the ball at Coffee County’s 23. The Warriors scored just one play later on a 23-yard scamper from tailback Kaden Bailey and a 2-point conversion. But the Raiders didn’t allow another point in the first half, including a defensive stand that turned back the Warriors after Riverdale started first and goal on the 1-yard line after a muffed Raider punt. Riverdale extended the lead to 11-0 with 3:32 to play in the third quarter on a 25-yard field goal by Khalil Arman that was setup after a Raider turnover. Coffee County lost a pair of fumbles on the night. Riverdale put the game out of reach with 10:56 in the fourth on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Malachi Telin to Zaiden Jones. Arman added a late field goal. The Raider offense outgained Riverdale 46 to 42 at halftime. But CHS managed just 6 yards of offense in the second half. The Raiders never got into the red zone. Jayden Carter was the leading rusher for CHS with 36 yards on 11 carries. The loss drops Coffee County to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in region play. The Raiders hit the road again next week, traveling to Rockvale for a Thursday night kickoff on Oct. 3.
