Zion Williamson thinks he would beat Vince Carter in Dunk Contest: "My dunk package is crazy; I just haven't showcased it yet"

Vince Carter , Michael Jordan, and LeBron James are three of the greatest dunkers in NBA history. Put the three superstars together—all in their primes—in a dunking competition, and it would be a sell-out.

But according to Zion Williamson , Vinsanity would undoubtedly win that showdown.

"I would have to go with prime Vince because of the power and creativity he had on his dunks," the New Orleans Pelicans forward said. "That doesn't take away from Mike or LeBron. I think just Vince had more creative dunks."

Vince was a mix of Mike and Bron

Jordan is a two-time Dunk Contest champion, winning back-to-back events in 1987 and 1988. The Chicago Bulls legend was all about creativity, style, and finesse when throwing down the basketball. On the other hand, LeBron has never joined the Dunk Contest. That said, he's always had an elite dunk package, even though his throwdowns were more about power than finesse.

Vince had Mike's creative flair and LeBron's authoritative power, which would give him the edge over the two. However, Zion would bet on himself in a potential dunk contest against Air Canada.

"I'm going to give Vince his respect, but I got to take myself," Williamson added. "I got nothing but love and respect for Vince. My dunk package is crazy; I just haven't showcased it. I think when I get back to America, I'm going to start posting a few dunks just to remind people that I still got it."

    Zion in the Dunk Contest?

Last season, Williamson showed interest in participating in the Dunk Contest. However, the No.1 overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft had one condition before joining the competition .

Zion was an All-Star in 2021 and 2023 but didn't participate in the dunk contest. Williamson recently said he's out for vengeance next season, which means he could be headed for another All-Star Game appearance. If that happens, hopefully, the forward will stay true to his word and participate in the Dunk Contest.
