This makes me hopeful. Genetics are opening up a lot of information and pathways to significant therapeutics. I’m not sure how parents are going to be able to afford genetic testing. Doctors will order testing, the best insurance says “we will cover this” then low a behold a subcontracted hidden insurance actuary will decide at the last minute you do NOT qualify after already submitting your sample. You have waited probably on average 6 weeks at least. The rub comes when the lab confirms your samples, but wait… oh sorry your insurance company has now deemed it not medically necessary. (Then why the F did our doctors order these tests?!?!). Lastly, the cherry on top will be the diagnostic lab contacting you directly to say it’s not covered now. BUT they have a FANTASTIC FINANCE DEPARTMENT they can put you in contact with through their company. I shit you not …..we are talking THOUSANDS of DOLLARS🤬 sound like a scam to you? Sure does to the rest of us parents in this boat.
