Odds continue to shift in the Georgia-Alabama game. As of the morning before the game, the calm before the storm, the Bulldogs are a -1 favorite.

The College Football Playoff's 12-team field may make regular season clashes less consequential to some -- but whether including four teams or 12, the epic Georgia-Alabama rivalry is nowhere near losing its edge.

Losses may not mean as much as they did in years past, but two perennial contenders clashing in an early-season test still moves the needle.

Especially two teams that share a border and are no longer divided by being in opposite divisions.

After looking at their last game, Georgia, already ranked No.2, does not have a strong case walking into this epic battle. Compared to last season, even if Georgia loses, it won't be as devastating for their playoff chances.

As Ralph D Russo of AP puts it, "Welcome to the 12-team playoff era, where the regular season just means less."

    Kalen DeBoer's almost perfect

Since 2021, Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs haven't lost to any team except Alabama. Twice.

So far, Paul Finebaum believes that Kalen DeBoer has done everything almost perfectly. This may prove to be a threat to Kirby Smart and Company.

Whoever might win, the game is surely expected to be an edge-of-your-seat, adrenaline-pumping one.
