Federal authorities along the Texas border with Mexico continue to report large Cocaine seizures as September comes to a close. Last Sunday the suspicions of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Agents at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry were triggered as a 2016 Ford Explorer driven by a 24-year-old Mexican citizen attempted to enter the state from Piedras Negras.

When CBP officers - along with their canine partners - took a closer look at the SUV they discovered 32 packages containing 61 pounds of cocaine hidden within the vehicle. The drugs have an estimated street value of $815,377.

Four days later, CBP Officers at the Pharr International Bridge found 18 packages containing 46.78 pounds of cocaine inside a car crossing into the U.S. from Reynosa, Mexico. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $624,631.

These seizures worth $1,440,008 follow the confiscation of more than 92 pounds of cocaine worth $1,233,367 earlier this month on the Pharr and Falcon International Bridges into Texas.

Together these September seizures total $2,673,375 worth of cocaine kept off Texas streets by federal agents so far this month.

As impressive as those seizures are, federal agents at the CBP San Diego, California Field Office report cocaine seizures totaling 1,128 pounds during the first three weeks of September. (Details of those busts can be found HERE and HERE).

These big busts continue a series of crackdowns along the U.S. Southern Border we first reported was underway last month.

How much impact do you think these cocaine busts have on Cartel Smuggling Operations?
