Nick Saban Predicts Winner of Georgia-Alabama in Week 5

It's the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs (3-0) versus the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide (3-0) on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa. The biggest matchup of the young college football season is here.

Storylines aren't hard to find ahead of this championship-caliber game. The two last met in December in the 2023 SEC Championship Game, a three-point win by the Tide. The Bulldogs had been perfect to that point and went on to miss the College Football Playoff and a chance at a three-peat.

UGA head coach Kirby Smart makes his return to Tuscaloosa, but his former mentor, Nick Saban, will not be on the Alabama sideline after retiring in the offseason. Instead, the seven-time national champion hosted ESPN's "College GameDay" on Saturday morning just outside of Bryant-Denny Stadium.

It was clear where Saban was going with his official prediction of Georgia-Alabama. Joined by his wife, Ms. Terry, as the show's celebrity guest picker for Week 5, Saban stood and fired up Crimson Tide faithful while picking his former team to win the top-four matchup.

It's up to first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer to make Saban's prediction a reality, though the Bulldogs will not go down easily. Georgia has won 42 straight regular season games dating back to 2020.

UGA is currently listed as a one-point favorite, per ESPN BET. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
