5 Baby-Making Songs by The Beatles

The Beatles produced jams that appealed to virtually everybody. They were masters of pop, after all. That being said, The Beatles also knew how to pen a few baby-making songs here and there. If you need a few vintage songs to add to your very specific playlist, read on!

1. “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road”

This White Album song by Paul McCartney had pretty comical origins. Allegedly, the song was written after McCartney saw two monkeys getting it on in the middle of a road somewhere in India during a trip. McCartney said witnessing the very quick act reminded him how “simple the act of procreation is”, which led to this song about gettin’ it on in a road.

2. “Something”

This Abbey Road track is one of George Harrison’s most well-loved works. The “Something” music video also featured each of the then-partners of The Beatles and has since become one of their most successful and genuine love songs. The melody on “Something” is particularly gorgeous.

3. “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”

The Beatles didn’t exactly release a ton of baby-making songs, but one can’t deny that this is one of the heaviest of the bunch. “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” is John Lennon’s declaration of love and obsession with Yoko Ono, and the energy in the vocals and instrumentation is palpable. “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” appears on Abbey Road.

4. “Don’t Let Me Down”

Another track by Lennon, “Don’t Let Me Down” wasn’t included in Let It Be, but we’re glad it at least got released in some capacity. It’s a desperate, sensual love song complete with blues guitar riffs. It’s not the Fab Four’s heaviest song, but it is quite sexy.

5. “Girl”

This Rubber Soul classic was (yet again) written by John Lennon about a woman, though he told Rolling Stone that the girl never actually existed.

“She was a dream, you know, but the words are all right, you know,” Lennon said. “It’s about ‘Was she taught when she was young that pain would lead to pleasure/Did she understand it?’, all that. They’re sort of philosophy quotes. It wasn’t just a song, and it was about, you know, that girl, which happened to turn out to be Yoko in the end.”

“Girl” is a song about desire that would suit any baby-making playlist, for sure.
