The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers in this AFC West showdown. This is going to be the first Chargers/Chiefs matchup of the Jim Harbaugh era. Justin Herbert is questionable with a high ankle sprain he reaggravated last week in the Chargers' loss to the Steelers.

    Key Stats

    Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are off to a great start to their season. Coming off a win last Sunday night against the Falcons, KC is 3-0 to start their season. Patrick Mahomes hasn't had his "Mahomes" type of game yet, but he is playing within the system and playing winning football.

Rashee Rice has been their clear-cut number-one receiver this season. Rice had 12 catches for 111 yards and a touchdown in their last game. In the first game without Isiah Pacheco, their rushing attack was still solid, Carson Steele had 17 carries for 72 yards.

The Chiefs' defense has been good through the first three games. KC's defense is ranked 15th in points allowed per game (20.7), 28th in passing yards allowed per game (247.3), 12th in rushing yards allowed per game (113.7), 11th in offensive touchdowns allowed (6), and 22nd in sacks (6).

Against the Falcons, they shut down one of the best all-around running backs in Bijan Robinson. They held him to 52 yards from scrimmage, including 16 carries for 31 rushing yards. If they can keep that up, they should have success against the 6th ranked rushing team in the Chargers.

    Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are coming off their first loss last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-10. Justin Herbert reaggravated the high ankle sprain he suffered the game prior. For the season, this is a run-first team.

They are ranked 31st in passing yards per game with 125 and 7th in rushing yards per game with 152. Both their star offensive tackles may miss this game against the Chiefs as well with pectoral and knee injuries that kept them out of practice. If they are without both starting tackles and Justin Herbert, this game out get out of hand early.

The Chargers' defense has been exceptional. They are 3rd in points allowed per game with only 11. LA's defense is just how Jim Harbaugh wants it to be, physical.

Their other rankings in popular categories are 10th in passing yards allowed per game (175.3), 6th in rushing yards allowed per game (91.7), 2nd in offensive touchdowns allowed per game (3), and 6th in takeaways per game (1.7) However, their star safety Derwin James is suspended for this game for "repeated violations of playing rules" in this game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

    Prediction

The Kansas City Chiefs are going to walk through the Los Angeles Chargers in this game. With both tackles out and potentially Justin Herbert, the Chargers have little to no chance. Then when you add the Derwin James suspension, this is a recipe for disaster.

This could be the first Mahomes game of the season when he shows off his golden arm. I see this game getting away from the Chargers early and the Chiefs running it up. This could be when Travis Kelce, who has been quiet to start the season, turns it on and has a typical Travis Kelce game.

    Final Pick

    Kansas City Chiefs -7 (-118)
