Woman Found Dead from Shooting on Chicago’s Far South Side

Police investigating fatal shooting on 9500 block of South Avenue North

CHICAGO — A woman was discovered fatally shot on the city’s Far South Side on Saturday morning, prompting a police investigation into the incident.

Chicago police reported that the woman, whose age remains unknown, was found with multiple gunshot wounds around 9:30 a.m. in the 9500 block of South Avenue North. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, and the circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation.

Police are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to contact CPD Area Four Detectives at 312-746-8251 or dial 911. Anonymous tips can also be submitted at CPDtip.com.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to gather further details.
