Sacramento, CA – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced the formation of a new state-level collaborative to assess and improve battery storage technologies and safety measures across California. As battery storage becomes increasingly critical in both infrastructure and daily life, this initiative aims to ensure the safe and reliable use of this technology.

The collaborative brings together key state agencies, including the California Air Resources Board, California Energy Commission, CAL FIRE, and the California Public Utilities Commission, among others. This partnership will focus on enhancing safety standards, streamlining installation practices, and improving first responder training for battery-related incidents.
