Several months after the release of their debut EP three twenty four in August 2023, Ole 60 experienced a delayed viral breakthrough that catapulted them into a spotlight they never expected. Hailing from Kentucky and boasting a unique Appalachian Rock sound, the group quickly rose to fame thereafter with their hit song "smoke & a light" as the catalyst, a hard-driving heater that has since amassed over 65 million streams on Spotify alone. As their fanbase has grown, though, Ole 60's catalog was lacking options, and the fans have been notably hungry for new music. They managed to keep everyone at bay with strong follow ups in singles "Brother Joe" this past March and "Next To You" in April, but now they're finally back with another project, and it shows a bit of a different side from what you might be used to in their songwriting and sound. The essence of the country-tinged Kentucky rock band that the many fell in love with through their first EP is still there, but in their latest EP
Songs About You , Ole 60 demonstrates that they can slow things down and tug on the heart strings a bit more than you might expect. There were moments of this in that first EP and in the subsequent singles, but this new project features four slowed down tunes that whole-heartedly dive into topics such as past relationships, loneliness, and addiction, and how all three lay into each other. And with a more country sound than expected, that still features heavy guitars and an angsty feel, this latest work demonstrates their diverse sonic capabilities. Check out Ole 60's aptly titled brand new EP Songs About You below. "WDYWMTS" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQM2vJ3sG1s "Memphis (Outta My Mind)"

With an uncanny amount of momentum behind their unique blend of grunge rock and country music, it's clear that Ole 60 is going to be big, and their rags to riches rise keeps getting better and better with each release. Comprised of lead vocalist and guitarist Jacob Young as well as bassist Colby Clark, drummer Aden Wood, dual guitar slingers Tristan Roby and Ryan Laslie, and now pedal steel/banjo/utility player Dwight McGlynn, the band's current catalog is short but it's potent, and I highly recommend you dive right in. And don't miss their live show if their coming through your town, either. I haven't had the privilege of catching a show yet myself, but these guys are top on the priority list. https://www.instagram.com/p/C-273zYpzGG/
