NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — For the fourth time in less than two months, bone fragments were found in Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo, and police are investigating.

A bystander spotted the remains lying on the ground early Thursday afternoon near Jane’s Carousel, located near 47 Water St., and called 911.

The NYPD said that the fragments could be human, but that the medical examiner will officially determine if they are human, and if so, the person’s age and sex.

Last month, human skeletal remains—including a skull—were found in the same area on three different occasions.

The first discovery of skeletal remains was made on Monday, Aug. 19 by a member of NYC Parks, and the very next night, a 911 caller reported more possible remains in the same area that upon investigation included a human thigh bone.

The most recent discovery was on Aug. 31, when bone fragments were found near the rocks adjacent to the carousel.

Officials said that the medical examiner is working to identify the remains, and determine if there is any connection between the discoveries.

    An investigation is ongoing.
