Fans Freak Out After Ref Inadvertently Leads to 75-Yard Maryland Touchdown

Maryland and Indiana engaged in a high-scoring Week 5 clash on Saturday afternoon, with the Hoosiers coming out on top by a score of 42-28.

Despite the lopsided final tally, the Terrapins managed to stay close for much of this game, and for a point in time, it looked like they had a serious shot at pulling off an upset victory.

Midway through the third quarter, running back Roman Hemby ripped off a 75-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 21. He got a bit of help from a referee, though, as he inadvertently threw a huge block to free up Hemby and allow him to get to the end zone for Maryland.

Indiana fans were obviously not too pleased with this play, as the ref collided with the guy who had the last shot at stopping Hemby on this run.

It obviously ended up being fairly inconsequential since the Hoosiers won, but for a point in time, it looked like this wild play would turn the scales of this game.

Instead, it ended up being a viral highlight from the day, but ultimately, it wasn't enough for Maryland to prevent Indiana from pushing their record to 5-0 on the year.
