AlamogordoTownNews.org reports that the New Mexico State Police announced that it is set to conduct warrant round-up operations statewide. This operation is a proactive measure in attempts to apprehend individuals with outstanding warrants.

The New Mexico State Police is encouraging those individuals with outstanding warrants to address these matters voluntarily. By taking the opportunity to resolve the warrants, individuals can get ahead of an unexpected visit from New Mexico State Police Officers.

New Mexico State Police Chief Troy Weisler said, “Our goal is to conduct proactive warrant round-up operations statewide in order to create a safer environment for the public. I would encourage those with warrants to take care of these matters before causing unwanted disruption to their lives, especially close to this holiday season. My officers are committed to removing law-breaking individuals from the streets, and these types of operations are one way we can do that.”

Those with outstanding warrants are encouraged to contact the law enforcement agency or appropriate court to which the warrant was issued from.

On September 23rd, 2024, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Oklahoma City Police Department contacted the New Mexico State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit to assist in the apprehension of a suspect wanted out of Oklahoma, per a release.

On Thursday, September 26th, 2024, the Fugitive Apprehension Unit of tne New Mexic State Police obtained information that led them to an address in Roswell, where the suspect was said to be staying. Upon arrival agents located 48-year-old Elizabeth Marin.

Marin was arrested and will be extradited back to Oklahoma, where she faces charges of Arson in the First Degree.

The collaboration between the New Mexico State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and the Oklahoma City Police Department is another example of seamless and successful teamwork, per the release and as reported by AlamogordoTownNews.org
