“This is not a laughing matter” - Scottie Pippen once accused a 5-year-old of causing a six-figure damage to his property

For current and former NBA players, investing their wealth in the real estate rental market is a smart move. However, this path can sometimes lead to significant challenges, as Scottie Pippen can attest.

In 2018, the Chicago Bulls icon filed a lawsuit against a family renting one of his properties. The case also involved the family's five-year-old daughter, who was accused of causing damage to his villa in Florida.

"While the damages sought is clearly not limited to the damage caused by minors and pets, which alone were material, this is not a laughing matter, and causing six-figure damage to someone else's house is both morally and legally wrong," said Pippen's attorney, Jason Giller, at the time, per Bleacher Report .

    Turbulent tenure at Pippen's mansion?

The family, consisting of Lindsay Glazer Woloshin, her husband Jacob, and their child, reportedly moved into Pippen's property around September 2017. Beforehand, Hurricane Irma had destroyed their own home. They paid about $30,000 a month for their new luxury residence in upscale Fort Lauderdale, which was valued at an impressive $10 million.

According to court documents, the new tenants' move-in was contingent upon the house being kept in "top show condition." However, just a few months later, Scottie's lawsuit alleged that the Woloshins did not comply with this agreement.

    Wild details of the lawsuit

According to the former NBA star, the plaintiffs—who reportedly also failed to pay rent —allowed his house to deteriorate, leading to damages estimated at $109,000. This amount was attributed to ruined furniture, missing kitchen items, and pets making a mess inside the villa.

Additionally, it was claimed that a large portion of the damage was caused by the daughter, who was just four years old at the time. Allegations included her using markers and crayons to mark "certain elements of the property." Eventually, her name was officially added to the lawsuit. Pippen, a father of seven , pointed out that this situation clearly shows a "failure as a parent." The child's mother, a comedian, didn't take this lightly and fired back.

"Who would have ever thought that Dennis Rodman would be strengthening relations with North Korea, and Scottie 'no tippin' Pippen would be the crazy one suing little girls?" she wrote on her website .

There hasn't been a final outcome reported online regarding the lawsuit. However, it's more than likely that Pip has become more careful about whom he rents to after that ordeal.
