Fans Calling For Lane Kiffin To Land At Top College Football Program After Kentucky Loss

Fans are calling for Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin to make a move to a top college football program after his team lost at home on Saturday to the Kentucky Wildcats.

Coming into the 2024 season, the Rebels had College Football Playoff expectations. In addition to quarterback Jaxson Dart returning for his senior season, Kiffin went out and acquired the No. 1 transfer portal class in America, per 247 Sports .

However, Ole Miss' postseason hopes took a major hit on Saturday in its 20-17 loss to the Wildcats. Coming into the match, the Rebels ranked fifth in the nation in total points per game with 48 but were unable to get their offense going.

Many analysts believed that Ole Miss went all-in for the 2024 season , as its schedule was set up nicely, and a good number of its key contributors were seniors.

As a result, there has been speculation that Kiffin may leave the school at the end of the year if things go south and take a potential head coaching opportunity with the Florida Gators.

The Gators currently don't have an opening, but there are reports that Florida boosters may influence the firing of head coach Billy Napier before 2025.

Napier was hired by Florida at the end of the 2021 season and, since then, has not provided results that live up to the school's national championship standard.

In 2022, the Gators finished with a 6-7 record, followed by a 5-7 campaign in 2023.

As for the 2024 season, Napier’s squad is off to a 2-2 start with blowout losses to their in-state rival, Miami Hurricanes, and their SEC rival, the Texas A&M Aggies.

Immediately following Ole Miss' loss to Kentucky, fans took to X to further escalate Kiffin's move to Florida.

"Ole Miss will always be Ole Miss!!!" a fan wrote. "Lane Kiffin you better go to Florida if you wanna win a national championship."

"The 'Lane Kiffin to Florida' train may have just picked up some steam," one fan said.

"LANE KIFFIN," another fan added. "You ARE the next Florida Gators football coach."

"Lane Kiffin to Florida by Monday morning," said a fan.

"Seems like the Florida job might be a better one," another wrote.

"Lane Kiffin just got hired at Florida for that loss," said another fan.

"Lane Kiffin is a Florida Gator," added a fan.

Some might ask why Kiffin would even consider leaving for Florida, but historically speaking, it's been the better program compared to Ole Miss.

Florida has won three national championships since the 1996 season. Meanwhile, Ole Miss has won zero since then. In fact, the Rebels have not won a national title since 1962.

Also, Jerry Doby of The Hype Magazine reported that Florida ranked as the second-highest state in the nation for producing high school football talent in 2023 . While Mississippi has produced some top prep talent over the years, it's nowhere near as fertile a recruiting ground as the Sunshine State. It's much easier for a coach in the state of Florida to acquire talent from their own backyard.

With a combination of NIL, being in the state of Florida, and historical prominence, the University of Florida has a higher ceiling to compete for a national championship year in and year out.

What's up with the big thing about Kiffin? The only reason he is a college coach is because he already went through all the pro cheerleaders!! He would be great at the new women's flag football league!!
