CONCORD, N.H. – In a solemn and heartfelt ceremony, family, friends, colleagues, and members of the fire service gathered this morning in Concord to honor the 94 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. The 18th Annual New Hampshire Fallen Firefighters Memorial, held at the state’s memorial site, paid tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives in the line of duty.

A particularly poignant moment in this year’s ceremony was the addition of Lieutenant Jess Wyman of the Nashua Fire Rescue Department to the memorial. As her name was unveiled by the honor guard, the crowd stood in reverence. Lieutenant Wyman’s husband was given the honor of ringing the bell, a longstanding tradition symbolizing the final call, and offering a salute in memory of his wife’s service and sacrifice.

The event brought together members of the fire service from across the state, reflecting on the courage and dedication of New Hampshire's fallen firefighters. Those in attendance expressed gratitude and solidarity with the families of the fallen, ensuring that their legacy lives on.

"Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring the memory of these brave firefighters," said a spokesperson for the memorial. The community was also reminded of next year’s memorial, scheduled for September 27, 2025, where the tradition of remembrance will continue.
