Dog Haatchi Lost His Leg But Not His Faith And Helped Others Gain Confidence

Sometimes while reading dog rescue stories, we couldn’t understand how someone could be so cruel as to hurt and abandon dogs deliberately. Some people are so heartless that they leave dogs in devastating situations and do not care at all.

However, humanity and kindness have not left the world and we have many people who look after the needy dogs and even the injured and troubled ones. True rescue dog stories have our hearts because of these kind people who do not become selfish and think about dogs first.

We have a similar story where we will see a family adopting a dog who lost his two legs has faced a lot of challenges and injuries and has been through many traumatic situations. Our hearts melted, and the entire family was nice and helped the dog to overcome the trauma while the rescue dog helped the son gain confidence.

    Coming across the Facebook Post

So, the story starts when Will Howkins and his wife saw a Facebook post about a rescued dog who needed a home and without wasting any time, the couple went to see the dog and learned that he has suffered a lot in the past. He had some horrifying injuries when he was dumped in a railyard in Spitalfields.

Amputation of Legs of the Dog

Well, if you are saddened by this, then you must know that this was not it. The dog was hit by a train and because of that, his lower legs were smashed and his tail was under the effect too. So, in his life, doctors had no other option than amputating his legs. He didn’t have a long life after the accident.

But all these things didn’t bother Will and his wife, who brought home the most adorable dog and named him Haatchi. What Howkins never thought of was that this dog Haatchi and their son Owen would form an unbreakable bond, which would lead to not only the happiness of Owen but also help him gain confidence.

    Owen and Haatchi Bonding

Owen hated going outside in a wheelchair and would always want to be carried away or be on the shoulders of Will but when Haatchi arrived, Owen had no other option but to help Owen go on a walk.

No one thought these walks and Owen helping Haatchi would make Owen confident. Owen always thought people were staring at him whenever he was in a wheelchair but now people were actually asking his dad about Haatchi and soon he realized that no one was looking at him.

Owen was Interested in Going Out Because of the Dog

Eventually, he was interested in taking Haatchi on walks and would talk about him to others very confidently. The dog Haatchi also waited for Owen to return from school and they both would spend a beautiful time playing and sleeping together.

Who would have thought a troubled dog with past traumas and injuries would help someone gain confidence? Well, we guess that is what love is!
