The majority of residents in Polk County remained without electrical power Saturday night after devastating floods swept through the area Friday as the remnants of Hurricane Helene passed through the area.

More than 80 percent of customers in the county remained out according to a website that tracks electrical power companies across the country.

PowerOutage.us showed 16,589 of the county’s 19,918 customers were without power as crews worked to clear debris in order to gain access to the damaged electrical power infrastructure.
