Call Mount for Legendary College Football Coach to Step Down After Rivalry Loss

Fans are calling for Mack Brown to step down after a second consecutive embarrassing loss.

North Carolina dominated most of Saturday's game against Duke but let off the gas late. Duke scored 21 unanswered points to secure a 21-20.

North Carolina had a chance to rally late, but Duke's Tre Freeman sealed the game with a crucial interception off Jacolby Criswell's pass, securing the Blue Devils' first Victory Bell win in five years.

The loss comes a week after a 70-50 loss to James Madison. Brown reportedly offered to step down after that game in the locker room while speaking to his players, but ultimately decided to stick around.

After a second embarrassing loss, fans are ready to see it happen.

"Last week Mack Brown questioned whether this group wanted to play for him anymore," a fan said . "This week, the players gave a loud and clear answer."

"If losing to James Madison nearly broke Mack Brown last week, what’s blowing a 20-point lead to Duke gonna do?" another fan added .

In his five-plus seasons during his second stint at North Carolina, Brown has amassed a 41-29 record. Brown has been able to work with some strong quarterbacks in recent seasons, including Drake Maye and Sam Howell. A group of fans believe that covered up some of Brown's deficiencies.

"Mack Brown ruined this program and yall f***ing losers just let it happen the last few years because Sam Howell and Drake saved games," an irate fan said . "This is who he’s been the entire f***ing time."

North Carolina is now 3-2 with a matchup with Pitt up next.

The Heels are stuck on 70, they gave up 70 points against James Madison & helped Duke improve to 2 & 72 when behind by 20 points or more. Carolina has had the two worst defensive (?) coordinators in the nation the last several years. I just don't understand why Brown figures two failed head coaches would make good defensive coordinators.
