Edge Rusher Colin Simmons Says Texas Will 'Dominate' Oklahoma

Following Texas' win over Mississippi State today, the Longhorns get a well-deserved bye week before a pivotal matchup against Oklahoma. It will be freshman edge defender Colin Simmons' first Red River Rivalry game, and he was asked about the matchup earlier today.

"I feel like we are going to dominate them," he said. "But at the end of the day, we have to trust in our coaching and get better each and every day."

Head coach Steve Sarkisian likely won't be thrilled about Simmons giving the Sooners any unnecessary bulletin board material. Still, based on how the teams have played to start the season, it's hard to argue with him.

Texas has started the season 5-0, with all five wins coming by 19+ points, while Oklahoma lost to Tennessee at home and barely escaped a road game against Auburn today.

The Red River Rivalry game will be played with these teams as members of the SEC for the first time, and it will have massive implications for the conference at large and the remainder of the season.

Texas might just want to say nothing. Although their records are completely different. This is OU and Texas. And has we seen in years past, anything and everything is in play here. So Texas, with everything on the line, has every right to be nervous. While Oklahoma on the other hand has absolutely nothing to lose, will play like that too. So,,maybe like his coach might be saying, Don't give them any advantage or edge they can build on. I know the Texas fan's are feeling this. Good luck to both teams, I know it's going to be memorable.
