Everything to Know Before The NHL 25 Launch

The EA Hockey franchise is coming out with its latest installment NHL 25, the video game is expected to be released on October 4th. Those who Pre-ordered with Early Access will have the game available to play 7 days early on September 27th, the cost is $69.99 but $62.99 if you have EA Play saving 10%. As with NHL 24 you can expect this year's installment to be on the EA Play Gamepass around 6 months after the release.

NHL 25 Details

PlayStation 5 and Xbox series X/S will feature the hit Ice Hockey video game, EA Play will be available on PC as well as the game will be available on Steam. The Hughes brothers have the honor of being on the cover of NHL 25, Quinn, Jack, and Luke Hughes are the first siblings to grace the cover of an EA Sports game. Some game modes have had some changes made from last year's installment, but the biggest change comes in Franchise Mode.

In the popular Franchise Mode, the first noticeable change is the new Menu Hub. The biggest change is GMs have to convince a player now to sign if their interest is too low, as a GM you can make certain promises of playing time but if you fail it can ruin all chances to sign. Players can also negotiate no-trade clauses into their contracts, they can negotiate no-movement clauses as well.

Gameplay and Visuals

One thing to expect in NHL 25 is improved animations and graphics. This installment's visual is clearly meant for current-generation consoles. Like Madden, EA Sports has added a feature to improve the opponent AI and CPU movements. Ice-Q is bound to make the experience as immersive as possible for NHL players. Skill-based one-timers create an exciting experience on offense and defense, yet it may not be a favorite feature for some fans. The hockey gameplay is fast-paced which requires the player's concentration and timing their reactions. Realistic goal celebrations have been drastically improved in NHL 25 compared to NHL 24.

Fans of the NHL EA franchise have complained in recent years of little to no change, and ultimately there are not many things different in NHL 25 than in 24. When looking at gameplay the NHL franchise has not missed yet, new animations and realistic presentation still make NHL 25 a game to watch. Marketing has been weak, to say the least for this game, EA Sports has not put much effort into changing the complaints from fans in recent games.

EA Sports may never perfect the NHL video game series, but fans should not turn away this year. The updated graphics, realistic pregame presentation, and fun gameplay with friends or yourself are enough to consider buying NHL 25. For any sports gamers, $70 is worth the price, hockey season is coming up, and NHL 25 is the most realistic Ice Hockey video game in the world.
