Packers May Play Jordan Love and Malik Willis Sunday
12 days ago
It was all doom and gloom for the Green Bay Packers after Week 1 of the season. Not only did they suffer a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but franchise quarterback Jordan Love also injured is knee. However, since then, Malik Willis has come in and led Green Bay to back-to-back wins, giving the Packers a 2-1 record heading into a big Week 4 match.
On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers will host the undefeated Minnesota Vikings. This will be a difficult matchup, and it will also be an important one. This game very well could have divisional race implications. But, more importantly, it will affect the NFC Wild Card race. That is why the quarterback decision on Sunday is such a big deal.
Packers May Play Jordan Love and Malik Willis On Sunday
After practicing all week long, it looks like Jordan Love will return to the lineup to play his first home game of the season. However, that may not mean Malik Willis will stay on the sidelines all game long.
It is believed that Willis could have some packages, likely in running situations, in this game against the Minnesota Vikings. Love will likely not be as mobile as normal, wearing some sort of a sleeve or brace on his knee. Utilizing Willis would mean the Vikings would not be able to fully sell out, defensively.
It would also make sense to use Willis a bit in the red zone in a Taysom Hill-like role. Having an extra blocker helps in short-yardage situations, and Willis is also still a threat to throw the ball. It will be very interesting to see how Green Bay handles the quarterback situation in such an important game.
Green Bay Packers Injury Report
As for the rest of the Week 4 Green Bay Packers injury report, there are a couple of alarming names. First-round rookie offensive lineman Jordan Morgan will miss another game with a shoulder injury. Also, cornerback Carrington Valentine is doubtful to play with an ankle injury.
The other player who is listed as questionable is cornerback Jaire Alexander. The battle between Alexander and Justin Jefferson has been hyped up all week long, so this is a surprise. Alexander practiced on a limited basis earlier in the week, but he was a DNP on Friday with a quad and groin injury.
Do you think Jaire Alexander plays? Also, would you like for the Green Bay Packers to use a two-quarterback system on Sunday? Let us know!
