Dak Prescott Doesn't Want To Rely On 'Butter'

Well, Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey is human, after all . The All-Pro missed his first field goal of the year and had a chance to slam the door shut on the New York Giants late in the fourth quarter.

Dallas would still sneak away with a 20-15 win at MetLife Stadium, but Aubrey had the chance to kill the contest and make it a two-score game late.

However, we aren't here to trash "Butter," he was perfect before his 51-yard miss, and quarterback Dak Prescott says that the offense can rely on Aubrey to save them week in and week out when things stall.

“We've got to ... take it out of Aubrey's hands,” Prescott said on the missed field goal. “We can't ask him to save us on every play, every possession. We've got to go get touchdowns.''

Dak also joked that maybe the reason the big-legged kicker missed is because it was "too short for him.''

Aubrey has been one of, if not the Cowboys' best player through four weeks and he was 12 for 12 on field goals before his miss. He has also nailed field goals from 60+ yards, with his best being a 65-yard dart against the Baltimore Ravens.

Said Dak: "He's a special guy. Every quarterback has a really, really good kicker if you look at the history of it. I'm so blessed to have him. He can make it from anywhere—I'm going to call that (miss) a fluke."

Indeed, while having a weapon like Aubrey is the envy of the league, Prescott is right; the offense needs to take it out of Brandon's hands and score touchdowns because, as we have seen, kickers will miss from time to time.

And as far as Aubrey's miss, well that was a simple glitch in the Matrix.
