The Chicago Blackhawks made their third round of training camp roster cuts Sunday by assigning six players to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs. Forwards Colton Dach, Cole Guttman, Ryder Rolston, Samuel Savoie, and Landon Slaggert and defenseman Ethan Del Mastro all figure to be IceHogs' mainstays this season.

Colton Dach expressed his desire to make the NHL club at the beginning of training camp, but the veteran newcomers among Chicago's forward group always made that a long shot. He'll look to maintain health and production at the AHL level while waiting in the wings for an opportunity with the Blackhawks.

Cole Guttman and Ethan Del Mastro had stints with Chicago last season but need more development time in the AHL. If injuries arise this season, both players could be plug-and-play options for Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson.

Like Dach, Ryder Rolston and Samuel Savoie are still waiting for their first NHL opportunities. That wait will likely continue as the forward duo resides lower on the organizational depth chart than more highly touted prospects.

Landon Slaggert joined the Blackhawks for 16 games last season after wrapping up his college career at Notre Dame. The rugged forward offers serviceable depth but must bide his time in Rockford until another opportunity arises.

After Sunday's transactions, the Blackhawks' training camp roster features 35 players (19 forwards, 11 defensemen, five goalies).
