Sophie Turner says it’s been a ‘struggle being a single mother’ after Joe Jonas divorce

Sophie Turner got candid about the struggles of “being a single mother” following her divorce from Joe Jonas.
The actress opened up about raising her and the “Work It Out” crooner’s two daughters — Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2 — while promoting her forthcoming series, “Joan,” which tells the story of a single mom and jewel thief in the ’80s.
“If I hadn’t been a mother, I don’t know if I would have been able to bring the same energy that I did into it,” she told the Sunday Times .
“It’s such a struggle being a single mother. Joan doesn’t go about it in the best way … but it is amazing to see her really fighting for her daughter.”
Turner, 28, continued, “It’s also really important for kids to see just how hard parents work for them.”
The “Game of Thrones” alum started filming the drama series ahead of Jonas, 35, filing for divorce in September 2023.
She explained that playing the role of the main character “changed” her “a lot” during a time when she had to be “ambitious” and have the “strong will” to “fight against the forces.”
“Joan gave me a lot of strength,” she told the British newspaper.
“She also taught me how to do a good ring swap in a handbag,” the mom of two quipped.
Comparing her character to her current situation, the “Dark Phoenix” star said she believes there has been so much “shame” that comes with being a mom.
Earlier this year, Turner spoke out about the negative reports, telling British Vogue that they made for the “worst few days of [her] life” and that she had “never been a partier.”
The exes also found themselves tangled in a messy custody battle as Turner sued the Jonas Brothers member for the return of their daughters to the UK, claiming he wouldn’t hand over their passports and continue with their plans to move to England, which they agreed on before they separated.
A rep for the “Hesitate” crooner denied the allegations , referring to them as “misleading at best.”

A struggle with nannies? These articles are very insensitive to women who are real single mothers. Some women are raising children by themselves because the father of their children are deceased or they walked away from their responsibilities. These celebs complain as if we should sympathize.🙄
