WNBA legend Tamika Catchings recently spoke on Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, following a successful rookie season. After's Clark's Rookie of the Year bid, Catchings made a prediction about the Fever star's future.

Catchings believes Clark's impact on the Fever was similar to players like A'ja Wilson, who won MVP with the Las Vegas Aces in 2024.

She thinks Clark's versatility was the driving factor in the rookie being an MVP candidate and Catchings explained that if she can continue to grow, she will keep seeing her name on the list of potential MVPs.

"Coming in and the impact that she had on our team, you look at the MVP, and you look at the impact they'd had on their teams," Catchings said. "From the triple-doubles and her play on the floor, she does have to be in the conversation. ... I do think if Caitlin [Clark] continues to grow and keep doing what she's doing in this league, she'll continue to be in those talks."

Clark received the fourth-most MVP votes in 2024 behind Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier and Wilson.

Clark finished her rookie season averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. She led the WNBA in average assists and led the rookie class in average points.

During her first pro season, Clark became the first rookie to record a triple-double in league history. In a 83-78 victory over the New York Liberty, Clark posted 19 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds.

The rookie's elite skill as a scorer and playmaker led to the Fever having one of its best seasons of the past decade. Indiana finished the regular season as the No. 6 seed in the WNBA standings, garnering a 20-20 record.

Indiana secured a spot in the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016 and earned its first 20-win season since 2015.

Clark and the Fever had their season cut short in the first round of the playoffs, though, getting swept 0-2 by the Connecticut Sun.
