Heat Wave Expected for Inland Southern California This Week

San Diego, CA — Inland areas of Southern California are in for a warm week ahead, as high pressure builds and temperatures rise through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). While coastal areas will experience cooler conditions moderated by a shallow marine layer, inland regions, including parts of Orange, San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, will see significant heat.

Morning fog and low clouds will persist along the coast, but inland areas will clear early, with temperatures expected to increase steadily. By Tuesday, the warmest day of the week, parts of the Inland Empire could see highs exceeding 100°F, with desert areas potentially surpassing 110°F.

Temperatures will begin to cool slightly by midweek, though they will remain above seasonal averages. Residents in affected areas are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat. Coastal areas will continue to benefit from cooler marine influences, but dense fog may affect visibility in the mornings.
