Shah’s Halal Food has leased a space in The Davis Collection , an upcoming shopping center across from the University of California, Davis. Shah’s Halal Food will occupy the 1,016-square-foot space at Ste 115 between the future homes of The Melt and 88 Bao Bao , as previously reported by What Now Sacramento.

The Davis Shah’s Hala Food is owned and operated by Tory Mashriqi , who learned to run a food truck business in New York before returning to California. Shah’s Halal Food is currently a vendor at University Mall, so it seems natural for the eatery to transition to the new Davis Collection as a brick-and-mortar eatery once the center opens in 2025. The food truck is actually considered to be many’s favorite on-campus food vendor, according to an interview published in 2020 by The California Aggie .

What Now Sacramento reached out to Mashriqi but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage. New York-based Shah’s Halal Food currently has over 50 locations. The brand is knownfor using 100% certified halal meat and fresh, local ingredients. Anchored by the existing Trader Joe’s, the Davis Collection is anticipated to complete development in mid-2025.
