I’ve always heard that nothing compares to a true New York bagel, but I hadn’t experienced one for myself until recently. On a casual lunch outing with a friend, we decided to try a bagel spot in San Francisco. While I wasn’t expecting to be blown away, I have to admit—it was pretty impressive.

I ordered a bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and the usual fixings, and the first thing that struck me was the texture. The bagel had that perfect balance between chewy and crunchy—a crisp exterior with a soft, doughy inside that held everything together beautifully. Of course, being in San Francisco, the price was on the higher side. But then again, that’s just par for the course in this city. Despite the cost, I’d say it was worth it for the quality and the experience. For anyone in the city craving a solid, well-made bagel with fresh toppings, this spot is definitely worth a visit. You might leave with a lighter wallet, but you’ll have a satisfying meal to show for it.
