Tom Brady reunited with his former team on a football field — though, he’s not back to playing… yet at least.

The seven-time Super Bowl Champion was also watching his Tampa Bay Buccaneer successor Baker Mayfield absolutely put it on the Philadelphia Eagles, engineered a 24-7 halftime lead.

The Buccaneers would go on to win 33-16 as Mayfield threw for 347 yards and two touchdowns.

Earlier this week, Mayfield discussed the difference between his and Brady’s quarterbacking styles.

Baker Mayfield: ‘Stressed’ Tom Brady jab was taken out of context

Mayfield had said the Bucs told him, “They wanted me to come in, be myself, bring the joy back to football for guys who weren’t having as much fun.”

Brady responded on the broadcast in kind as the quote was presented on the Fox broadcast.

“I thought stressful was not having Super Bowl rings,” Brady said in the booth, replying to Mayfield’s comment. “There was a mindset of a champion that I took to work every day. This wasn’t daycare. If I wanted to have fun, I was going to go to Disneyland with my kids.”

Encouraged by play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt to continue, Brady added more, explaining his process, and why “fun” wasn’t necessarily valuable to him — not as a substitute for winning, anyway.

“There’s a way to approach this game,” Brady said, “And it’s that with the right mindset and try to push each other outside of our comfort zone and great teammates do that. You come in, I have teammates like (Rob) Gronkowski, I have someone like (Mike) Evans, there’s high expectations for us, we’ve got to make sure we go out and deliver.”

Burkhardt replied, “The competitive juices, still flowing.”

Added Brady, “They’re still in there. No apologies.

Earlier in the week, Mayfield said in reference to the difference between his tenure with Tampa and the one led by Brady between 2020 and 2022, that, “the building was a little bit different with Tom in there.”

Mayfield continued , “Obviously, playing-wise, Tom is different. He had everybody dialed in, high-strung environment, so I think everybody was pretty stressed out.”

Brady would, of course, hold up his Super Bowl ring as the conversation ender here, being that he helped lead the Bucs to one during his three seasons, and it’s only the second in the franchise’s history.
