Although Texas defeated Mississippi State 35-13 on Saturday, Alabama jumped the Longhorns in the updated AP Top 25 Poll released on Sunday.

The Crimson Tide is certainly deserving of the top spot in the ranking following their 41-34 win over Georgia. The final score made the game look closer than it was as Alabama held a 30-7 lead at halftime.

On the other hand, the Longhorns struggled in the first half against Mississippi State. Texas ultimately broke the game open in the fourth quarter with two touchdowns, but coughed up two fumbles among a variety of other mistakes on the day.

Steve Sarkisian's squad dropped one spot in the AP Poll this week and are now the No. 2 team in the country. Ohio State (No. 3), Tennessee (No. 4), and Georgia (No. 5) round out the top five.

Ole Miss, Utah and Louisville saw the biggest drops in the poll this week. The Rebels suffered the most surprising loss of the week to Kentucky, 17-20.

How is a team that blew a 23 point lead & almost lost had it not been for a last minute TD deserving of the top spot? Bunch of BS
