Texas Education Crisis: State Ranks Among Least Educated in Nation

Texas Faces Uphill Battle as Education Scores Plummet

Texas faces an education challenge as it ranks among the least educated states in America, according to a recent study by Writerbuddy.ai. The Lone Star State placed 7th from the bottom in educational attainment, scoring just 26.04 out of 100 points.

The study, which analyzed data from the 2022 American Community Survey, reveals that only 31.02% of Texans hold a bachelor's degree while 10.67% have completed graduate studies. Alarmingly, 13.93% of the state's population lacks a high school diploma.

The findings reveal a notable gender disparity. Women aged 25-44 outpace men in bachelor's degree attainment by 8%. However, this educational advantage doesn't translate to earnings, as men aged 25 and over with similar degrees earn 25.5% more than their female counterparts.

These statistics highlight the need for Texas to address both educational access and workplace equity to improve its standing.
