more education needs to be done. methadone clinic have always had a scarlet letter on their address. and if you attend N/A you are not allowed to speak. for they feel your still using. you hear " stop one drug for another" it's crazy the stigma that comes to being a addict. My mom had cancer . The pain she was in was undescribable. thank God she went into remission. the Dr. stopped all pain meds. my mom was so excited getting her life back. well 24 hrs later she was in the ED. they told her she was having withdrawals. and they sent a senior women to a methadone clinic. had to go every day . for 30 days then was allowed weekend meds. well COVID appeared. she was given two weeks worth. then 6 months later 28 days worth. she refused to detox out of fear of what happened to her prior to the clinic. So before judging a person know there story. not all are heroin addicts . they are our parents grandparents. the love of our lives.
