The Golden Bachelorette is finally in full swing, with two episodes already having aired. Joan Vassos is doing an incredible job as the leading lady and has already formed several strong connections. After two rose ceremonies, Joan is currently down to fourteen men. Following the success of The Golden Bachelor , viewers waited for The Golden Bachelorette for almost a year. So far, Joan’s season certainly hasn’t let them down. The historic first season of The Golden Bachelorette has been filled with laughs, happiness, and of course a few tears here and there.

Speaking of The Golden Bachelor, it’s worth noting that The Golden Bachelorette already has an edge over its counterpart series. While Gerry Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor was a huge hit last fall, it wasn’t without its faults. There are already several signs that point to Joan’s season being more successful, as well as just more enjoyable overall. Here are three reasons why we’re sure that The Golden Bachelorette will be better than The Golden Bachelor.

Joan probably won’t repeat Gerry’s mistakes

While Gerry’s season was fun to watch, the ending did sour things. Gerry made some controversial moves once he got to the final two women, being Theresa Nist and Leslie Fhima . Originally, it seemed like Gerry was going to choose Leslie. During his final date with Theresa, Gerry even admitted that he wondered what Leslie was doing. Understandably, it was a shock to viewers when Gerry later confessed to Leslie that he had fallen in love with Theresa and planned to propose to her.

Gerry’s bad decisions didn’t end there, however. After getting engaged to Theresa, Gerry announced that the pair planned to get married as soon as possible. Only a few months after the season finished airing, Gerry and Theresa got married in a televised Golden Wedding . Unfortunately, happily ever after didn’t last long, as the former couple revealed their plans to divorce only three months later. The main reason behind the divorce was their location, as neither Gerry nor Theresa was willing to move.

Joan, on the other hand, doesn’t seem like she would make the same careless mistakes as Gerry. It appears that Joan really knows what she wants, so it would be a surprise if she pulls a blindside on someone like Gerry did to Leslie. Furthermore, Joan will probably learn from Gerry’s experience and not rush into marriage. As a result, her season will hopefully have a more positive ending.

The men are more fun to watch than the women

There, I said it. On the regular Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons, it’s always slightly more entertaining watching the men interact as opposed to the women. There’s just something so funny about watching grown men argue, especially over such silly things. The same holds for The Golden Bachelorette . While the only thing the men have argued about so far is how to barbecue, it’s wholesome watching senior men befriend one another in such an unusual environment.

Furthermore, even though The Golden Bachelorette is only two episodes in, many of the cast members have already made an impression. Charles Ling won viewers’ hearts for his jokes and authenticity, as well as for his love of the mansion’s kitchen! Another notable contestant this season is Pascal Ibgui , who owns a hair salon in Chicago. During the barbecue, Pascal made the hilarious move of taking Joan upstairs to show off his wardrobe. These are just things that would never happen on the original Bachelorette .

Finally, The Golden Bachelorette features a contestant who was a fan favorite long before his debut on the show. Mark Anderson is the father of Kelsey Anderson , who won The Bachelor Season 28. Viewers began calling for Mark to be The Golden Bachelor after he appeared during hometowns, as they loved his energy. A contestant as notable as Mark just makes a great season even more fun to watch.

While the women on The Golden Bachelor weren’t bad by any means, they just weren’t as iconic as the men on The Golden Bachelorette.

The dates on The Golden Bachelorette are already better than they were on The Golden Bachelor

The cast members are always the most important part of any Bachelor season but the dates play a part as well. During the COVID seasons, for instance, some of the dates were difficult to watch because they were so low budget and confined to wherever the cast was staying. This made viewers appreciate the charm of the regular seasons, where the cast often travels and goes on extravagant dates.

Gerry’s season wasn’t a COVID season but some of his dates were just lackluster. For instance, the women participated in activities such as pickleball and photo shoots for the group dates. While these are ok in moderation, it felt like every group date of the season didn’t have much effort put into them. None of the one-on-one dates stood out either, as they were all simple everyday activities that had been seen on the show before.

Joan’s season, on the other hand, has already featured some unique dates. Her first group date of the season was “Senior Senior Prom”, which felt right. It wasn’t low budget either, as Joan and the men went to an actual high school and joined students. The event even had live music from Taylor Dayne! The real highlight of the episode, however, was Joan’s one-on-one date with Chock Chapple . Joan surprised Chock with a day at Disneyland, it doesn’t get much better than that!
