Notre Dame’s 31-24 victory over Louisville this past weekend wasn’t just a big win on the field, it was a big moment for 2026 prospect Sullivan Garvin as well. The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive lineman out of Allegan (Mich.) left South Bend with more than just memories of a thrilling game; he left with a scholarship offer.

For Garvin, receiving the offer from Notre Dame was a big moment for him and his family.

"Coach ( Joe ) Rudolph did it in the locker room right after he finished talking to his O-line,” Garvin told Irish Breakdown. "Once coach told me, I was ecstatic. I felt very grateful to be this blessed.”

The excitement of the offer capped off what Garvin described as an incredible visit to Notre Dame.

"My visit was great," Garvin shared. "I really loved the hospitality and how nice the entire staff was to me and my family. We all felt very welcome and comfortable.”

Garvin is the latest offensive line offer for Rudolph and the Irish coaching staff, and they know that continuing to get top targets on campus is critical to winning these recruitments. While this wasn’t Garvin’s first visit to campus, this may have been his best visit yet to South Bend.

"Definitely a 10,” Garvin stated when asked to rate his visit.

One of the most important takeaways for Garvin was the strong relationship he continues to build with the Notre Dame staff, especially offensive line coach Joe Rudolph and head coach Marcus Freeman .

"My relationship with the coaches is great,” he said. "I talk to both Rudolph and Freeman a few times per week, and I would say out of anyone on the staff, me and Carter Auman have a great relationship.”

As for where Notre Dame stands in his recruitment, Garvin made it clear that the Irish have made a strong impression so far in his recruitment.

"Notre Dame is definitely one of my favorites,” he shared.

It is clear that Garvin is one of Notre Dame’s favorites as well. The Irish staff are looking to continue their tradition of “OLine U”, and they have shown a great ability to identify future NFL talent when recruiting the offensive-line position. While Garvin hasn’t set a specific timeline for his decision, he did reveal that a commitment could come sooner rather than later.

"I don’t know when or where I’ll commit, but I do know it’ll be relatively early,” he stated. "I’m looking for a great education, and the place also needs to be an environment where I know I’ll grow as a football player but also as a person,” he shared.

Overall, it was a great weekend for the Notre Dame football program, and for the Garvin family as well. While Garvin enjoyed every part of his visit, there was one aspect that stands above the rest from his weekend at Notre Dame.

"My favorite part of the visit was being in the locker room and receiving the offer,” said Garvin. "My 1-on-1 conversations with Rudolph and Freeman in the recruit lounge before the game. I also loved that ND won!”

Garvin is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 11 player in the state of Michigan according to 247Sports. He holds offers from Notre Dame, Indiana, Miami (Ohio), Akron, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan.
