Future of New Hampshire’s Oldest Ski Area To Be Revealed
By Matt Lorelli,

The Indy Pass , a popular ski pass that grants access to independent ski areas across the globe, is hosting an open-to-the-public community meeting on October 5, 2024.
The purpose of the meeting is to, "inform the Black Mountain community about the ski area’s future."
Entabeni Systems founder Erik Mogensen, which owns the Indy Pass, announced in October of 2023 that it would provide the ski area with enough resources to operate during the Winter '23/'24 season. The generous move came just days after Black Mountain's owners, The Fischera Family, announced that they would be unable to open the ski area for the season.
John Fischera and Erik Mogensen will make a joint presentation at the meeting, which is scheduled to being at 4pm EST at the Black Mountain Base Lodge. The presentation will be followed by an open question and answer session for the community.
The Indy Pass and Black Mountain have not released any further details, but teased, "There will be many quotable comments, photo opportunities, and access to Black Mountain and Indy Pass leadership."
Black Mountain is New Hampshire's oldest and one of its most beloved ski areas. It has been welcoming skiers and riders since 1935, and the Indy Pass, among others, simply couldn't let it close as many historic ski areas have in recent years.
The ski area was able to operate last season thanks to Mogensen and the Indy Pass' generous contributions, and the community meeting on October 5th will most likely chart the course forward. It's unclear if the partnership between The Indy Pass and Black Mountain will continue, but many are speculating it will considering the joint presentation that is expected to take place.
POWDER will publish a follow-up to this story after the meeting has taken place. Stay tuned for more information regarding the future of Black Mountain, New Hampshire.
