Fans Express Concern for Lorde After Singer Shares Cryptic Photos Sporting a Black Eye

Lorde's most recent social media post has some fans worried about what might have happened to the "Royals" songstress.

The 27-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday, Sept. 30, with a carousel of photos including several selfies of her appearing to have a black eye.

In the update, Lorde also posted a picture of a disc marked ProHealth Advanced Imaging and another shot of the star just about to eat an ice cream sundae. The final pic featured a baseball hat that read, "Do you have the stones?"

"DYHTS? © 𝑳ĿŁု⑷♶⚤," Lorde captioned the post. ("DYHTS" matches "Do you have the stones?")

Lorde's followers were quick to express their concern, especially given the lack of details.

"Posting this with no context is crazy. it’s probably all for aesthetic, but hope you’re okay girl 😭❤️‍🩹," wrote one commenter.

"MYYYY GIRLLL WHAT HAPPENEDDD????" another Instagram user wanted to know.

Other fans, however, couldn't help but take the opportunity to reference a few of Lorde's hits, including "The Love Club," "Girl So Confusing," and "Green Light," in addition to her highly publicized feud with Charli XCX .

"Someone said she got punched for the love club 😭," joked one person.

"Looks like you didn't work it out on the remix with someone," wrote someone else.

"Girl, so concussed," cracked another fan, with a different person asking "did you forget to wait for that green light…?"

Lorde also deleted all the other posts from her Instagram account when she shared the black-eye selfies, further adding to the intrigue around the unexplained photos.
