Robert Saleh backtracks on Jets' point of contention with Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets saw Aaron Rodgers pull it off on the road against the San Francisco 49ers , drawing the defense offsides and finding Allen Lazard for a 36-yard touchdown on the ensuing free play.

At home against the Denver Broncos , however, it was a completely different story. The New York offense was out of sync to the tune of five pre-snap false start penalties. Following the Week 4 loss, Jets' head coach Robert Saleh suggested that Rodgers's patented pre-snap cadence may be too complicated for some players to handle at this point in time.

When approached with the idea of "dialing back the use of the cadence," Rodgers vehemently objected while addressing reporters postgame.

"That's one way to do it. The other way is hold them accountable," said Rodgers, who has made the hard-count cadence a staple of his arsenal over the years.

On Monday, Saleh claimed that reducing its use is not on the table.

"No, no. Yesterday, I was mentioning operation. We're always going to push the envelope with cadence, always," said Saleh.

The head coach is challenging his players to improve the entire pre-snap operation, of which Rodgers's hard count is only one piece.

"With regards to operation, getting in and out of the huddle, getting to the line of scrimmage, there's a communication that's being had. Those are all things that we can continue to look at and clean up," said Saleh. "From a cadence standpoint, that's part of what makes us who we are. We're going to continue to always push the envelope on that."
